FAQ
Is dog sledding accessible to beginners?
Yes, no experience is needed. Our professional mushers welcome you and guide you from getting to know the dogs to returning to the start. A full briefing is included before every outing.
From what age can you go dog sledding?
The activity is accessible from age 3. Children can enjoy the experience as passengers, accompanied by an adult. Contact your local Takamaka agency for exact conditions.
Can I drive the sled myself?
Depending on the destination, it may be possible to take the reins and drive your own team, accompanied by a musher. Check with your local Takamaka agency to find out if this option is available.
Can outings be cancelled due to weather?
Participant safety and the well-being of the dogs are our top priority. If weather conditions are unfavourable, the outing may be postponed or cancelled. The decision is made as close to departure as possible by our teams on the ground.
What should I wear for a dog sledding outing?
Wear warm, waterproof clothing, thick gloves, a hat and footwear suited to cold and snow. A ski suit is ideal. Check with your agency to find out if additional gear is provided.

A magical family outing. The kids were thrilled with the dogs, and we all got to hold the reins. The musher was passionate and explained everything with great warmth. An unforgettable moment.
I didn’t expect to be so moved by this experience. The snowy forest, the silence, the dogs flying ahead... it’s another world entirely. Do it without hesitation.
Excellent guidance, beautiful dogs and a truly transporting route. We drove the team ourselves and it was intense! A winter experience worth dreaming about. Thank you to the whole team.
