Do you need any experience to go hot air ballooning?
No experience is needed. Hot air ballooning is a fully passive activity: you step into the basket and the pilot takes care of everything. No physical condition is required.
How long does a hot air balloon flight last?
The flight itself lasts on average between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes. Including balloon inflation and the post-landing debrief, allow around 3 hours for the full activity.
What time do hot air balloon flights take place?
Hot air balloon flights always take place very early in the morning, at dawn, when wind conditions are at their calmest and most stable throughout the day.
Is there a maximum weight for hot air ballooning?
Yes, a maximum weight of 100 kg is generally required for technical and safety reasons. If in doubt, contact your local Takamaka agency directly before booking.
Can flights be cancelled due to weather?
Yes. Hot air ballooning is directly dependent on atmospheric conditions. In case of strong winds, rain or poor visibility, the flight may be postponed or cancelled. The decision is made the evening before by the pilot.

A little bonus that makes all the difference: we got to celebrate our 40th birthday with a glass of champagne 🥂 and Sarah’s delicious cookies! (An absolute treat!).
A wonderful family adventure, with a real sense of togetherness… and the next generation is already carrying the torch, as Sarah has taken flight herself by becoming a pilot!
All of this with perfect weather and breathtaking views of Lake Annecy and Mont-Blanc… a truly timeless moment.
